The familiar Rochester logo with the circle-r is being employed in a new advertising campaign begun by the Economic Development Department of the City of Rochester with the objective to encourage business owners and managers to keep their businesses here in Rochester or to move their businesses in from out of town.

The strategy is to showcase the area’s abundance of arts and culture as one of the world class strengths of Rochester. People are amazed when they realize we have the world’s largest and most complete museum of photography and film…that we have the only museum of play anywhere…that our Geva theater features Broadway actors…that our philharmonic orchestra as well as our school of music is among the world’s best…that we have a great abundance of highly talented artists and musicians. Given this backdrop, Frontline launched the “World Class Arts and Culture” advertising campaign.

The City of Rochester has partnered with County of Monroe, Arts & Cultural Council for Greater Rochester, VisitRochester, Rochester Business Alliance, Greater Rochester Enterprise and the Ad Council of Rochester as well as many members of the Arts & Cultural Council.

The campaign broke with full-page ads in several noteworthy business publications’ regional editions:
• BUSINESS WEEK
• FORBES
• FORTUNE
• INC.
• MONEY
• FAST COMPANY
• FORTUNE SMALL BUSINESS
• NEWSWEEK
• SPORTS ILLUSTRATED
• TIME
• U.S. NEWS
• ROCHESTER BUSINESS JOURNAL
• METROPOLITAN
